EARNESTLY CONTENDING This blog came into being as I thought about the death of my son and the way my wife and I raised him. The first post was “Thinking about my son and the gospel...” Our understanding of theology and the gospel had been radically changed a few years prior to our son’s passing and, looking back, we realized what a mess we had made and how foolish we had been in what we believed. This blog is an attempt to warn the church about false teaching that runs rampant through the landscape...thus the name “Earnestly Contending”. But, also, it is a platform for me to just reminisce about my son, look back at what God has brought my wife and me through and to relate lessons learned along the way. ~Dave Stockhover  |
